We love to browse #interiors on Instagram and lust after the amazing spaces, but we don’t all have the time, energy, or skills to create them. So is there an easy way to create stunning interiors with minimal effort? No. But there are a few quick things that can effortlessly elevate your interior style.

There are a few timeless ideas like incorporating gallery-styled wall art, but even things like that require a designers eye sometimes and we want to keep it a little simpler.

One Featured Piece

If we’re not professional interior stylists, it can be tough to know how to style a room and it’s easy to accidentally go overboard. If this is a big worry for you, just try focusing on one central piece. In the living room, the sofa is a great option. It’s often in use so you’ll always be aware of it so making it a focal point is easy. Pick a sofa that boasts a bold colour or maybe a luxe texture and go from there.

In the dining room the focal point can be your dining table, in the bedroom it can be your bed or even your bed head. Allow everything else in the space to complement the hero piece and blam! Your interiors are amazing.

Eye-catching Accents

Changing a pretty big part of your interior aesthetic like your sofa or dining table might not be reasonable. An easier option might be to add a few details to elevate your space. The fastest way to do this in most of your spaces is with cushions and throws.

There are a few reasons to love adding cushions and throws. One reason is that they offer the perfect, easy finishing touch; a sofa without accents is basically naked. The other big reason is that these stylish touches are extremely cosy. (Who doesn’t love curling up with an abundance of cushioning and warm blankets?)

These comfy décor options can also help you change your colour palette, if you desire. Accent a neutral sofa or armchair with a pop of colour or pattern! These little touches can easily transform your living or bedroom space, you just have to try it out!

Decorative Dining

Sitting down to a meal, more often than not you’re focusing on the meal itself, right? Obviously yes, the food is what really matters here, but your can make your dining experience a more memorably affair with a few quick decorative accents. For example, are you using a table cloth? If not, why not? You might think it’s just going to be another thing you need to clean on laundry day but it is a hell of a lot easier to chuck a tablecloth into the wash than to try to clean stains from your lovely dining table.

If you’re not worried about marking up your table because it’s already a little worse for wear, all the more reason to use a dining cloth! You could be eating on plastic, foldable tables but throw a nice tablecloth over it and no one can tell!

Placemats, coasters, and napkins all serve the same function of sprucing up your space while also preventing damage to your furniture. There are plenty of different ways you can style your table. You can use coordinated sets for that put-together look, or make it up as you go, resulting in a completely unique table arrangement.

Little touches like these are so easy but they can make your dining space feel so much more stylish and homey. Add a floral accent, if you like, to step it up a notch on special occasions.

Natural Colour Palettes

Coordinated colour palettes will always look chic and stylish, but trying to make sure all your colours are the same hue, tone, or shade can be a lot for the lazy stylists among us. An easy way to get around that is to stick to the naturals.

Organic materials like wood, cotton, rattan, and hide pretty much always complement each other. Plus, these natural elements effortlessly combine to create a charming, rustic aesthetic. Amp up this look if you like with fringe accents, or leave it unadorned for a neater finish. Speaking of neat…

Keep it Neat

This doesn’t have anything to do with interior styling for the most part, except for the fact that not one insta-worthy interior is messy. Not one! Engage in a little Spring cleaning (no matter what time of year it is) and you can totally transform your home.
