Design duo Alisa and Lysandra are taking your walls to task with their new collection of inspired wall art. From the beat to the Block to your very own home, the feisty Fraser twins are bringing the beauty.
Design duo Alisa and Lysandra are two of a kind. Their pathway to interior design took a detour via the police force and reality TV sets before finding its home in their own design enterprise… This is a life (or lives!) less ordinary. And we’re cashing in on their style with their new inspired collection of wall art.
The Fraser twins got their start on The Block Sky High, and subsequently on The Block – Fans vs Faves. The result was fiery and passionate and fiercely successful. The twins won points for their sassy approach to style and life. They were so successful, in fact, that they’ve kicked their handcuffs to the kerb and started up their very own design brand.
The twins are less joined at the hip than through a shared focus and talent and mindset. Their design aesthetic is defined by LOVE! They are driven to cultivate spaces that respond to the unique needs of each home (and it’s owners!).
A&L: It’s about the harmonious energy you feel when you enter a space, it’s the feeling of warmth and yearning to be, grow, and do things in the interiors you love and the spaces that nurture you.
The new collection of contemporary art is designed and produced exclusively in Australia. In addition to representing Alisa and Lysandra’s style, it embraces en-vogue designs, capitalising on the duo’s instinct for colour-forecasting.
It is “seductive, unique and refreshing”. Lush.
The collection features graphic and photographic pieces, reinterpreting nature’s palette in visually effective ways, from striking monochrome through to vivid pastels. The textures and hues are arresting, introducing distinctive character to your design scape.
A&L: This collection features a series of visually powerful prints that create aesthetic polarities and perfectly balance masculine and feminine tones and textures through the abundance and colour palette of nature.
Transformative and transcendental, moody and seductive, raw yet resonant – each piece explores the perfect imperfection of our planet.
WHY BOTHER WITH ART?
Art is the icing on the cake. It provokes an emotional response, taking your interiors to the next level. The twins set out to create art for everyone: pieces that were affordable and en-vogue.
Plus, as Alisa and Lysandra point out, “Artwork… can deliver enormous emotional power in a space.”
WHERE SHOULD I PUT IT?
A bit green when it comes to interior design? Don’t sweat. According to Alisa and Lysandra, it’s all about self-expression. Rules? Forget them!
That said, taking some time to consider balance will help. Look at your space. Take in the lighting and furniture around your artwork and how it affects its impact. Look at what’s happening on the other side of the room.
Mocking up a butcher’s paper version of your piece allows you to experiment with placement with the handy assistance of blu-tac.
WHAT COLOUR WILL WORK BEST?
Referencing your current colour scheme will help to create a cohesive and harmonious look.
A&L: Artwork can be used to enhance your interiors by drawing visual interest and amplifying your space. Use your existing colour palette as a guide to select a piece that will create colour continuity but also allows the introduction of an accent colour.
CAN MY ART DICTATE MY AESTHETIC?
Alisa and Lysandra say yes!
A&L: In contrast to common opinion, it is perfectly acceptable to freshen-up or redesign your space around a piece of artwork you love.
BEAUTY IN OPPOSITION
Alisa and Lysandra are drawn to the juxtaposition of opposing forces. By contrasting minimalist and luxe, masculinity and softness, modern and mild, their curated artwork collection packs a visual punch.
This is destined to be the first of many collections… We can feel in it our bones. 🙂
